Plain English, no fine print you'd need a lawyer to translate. This page explains what we collect through honesttreads.net, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers Honest Treads LLC ("Honest Treads," "we," "us"), based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and the website at honesttreads.net. It applies to visitors browsing the site and to anyone who submits a form, calls, texts, or emails us.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need to respond to you:
- Contact details you provide: name, business name, phone number, email address, and your current website (if any), submitted through our contact form or free website evaluation form.
- What you tell us about your project: your goals, timeline, or any message you type into a form.
- Basic technical information: the page you were on, how you arrived (referring site or campaign link), and general browser information, captured automatically when a form is submitted.
We do not ask for payment card numbers, passwords, or government ID numbers through this site, and we don't want you to send us any of that by form, text, or email either.
How we use it
Information you submit is used to:
- Respond to your inquiry, callback request, or website evaluation.
- Send you the specific thing you asked for (a quote, a review of your site, a callback at the time you chose).
- Understand which pages and offers are useful to visitors, so we can improve the site.
We do not use your information to send unsolicited marketing you didn't ask for, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, ever.
How a form submission is handled, technically
When you submit a form on this site: a copy is kept in your own browser's local storage as a backup, and the details are sent to a small server-side function we operate, which sends a text alert to the business owner's phone through Textbelt, a third-party SMS delivery service, so a real person can follow up. That is currently the only outside service that receives lead details from this site's forms, and it receives only what's needed to identify and follow up with you (name, business, phone, what you're interested in, and which page you were on). Full email addresses are intentionally not included in that text alert for delivery-reliability reasons; they're still stored with the rest of your submission.
Cookies & local storage
This site does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage is used only to keep a backup copy of a form you submit, on your own device. If we add privacy-conscious analytics in the future (for example, Google Analytics, to understand overall traffic patterns), this policy will be updated to describe it, and any such tool would use standard, aggregate analytics cookies, not advertising trackers.
Pages on this site load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Loading a font, like loading any external resource, shares your browser's IP address and basic request information with that provider, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
How long we keep information
We keep contact and project information for as long as reasonably useful for following up and for our own business records, generally no more than a few years after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it longer.
Your choices
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- Tell you what information we have about you.
- Correct information that's wrong.
- Delete your information from our records.
- Stop contacting you.
Just call, text, or email us (details below) and we'll take care of it, usually within a few business days.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for business owners and adults arranging services for a business. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, and if we learn that we have, we'll delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including using a reputable hosting provider (Cloudflare) and keeping server-side secrets like API keys out of the site's public source code. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we don't treat your information carelessly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
